What makes your home a Green or Healthy Home?
This home is powered by solar-photovoltaic panels (upgraded in 2015/2016) and has 16 large batteries. The solar panel array collects energy from the sun. The energy collected is direct current (DC) power. The DC is stored in the battery bank. When power is needed in the house, the controller and the inverter work together to extract the energy from the batteries and change it to the AC power needed for the home (via the breaker box). With the New Mexico sunshine this almost always enough. However, there is a back-up generator, just in case. The solar system operates like normal electricity. The outlets are typical, and all appliances can be used. A large Sun Frost refrigerator/freezer manufactured for solar powered homes will be conveyed with the property.
In addition, the home has double pane windows. The home is certified to have R-38 insulation in the ceiling and R-19 in the walls. Also, the home has a "Full Air Infiltration Package." It is certified that the sill plates, door and window perimeters have been caulked or foamed.Property Description
