Property Description

Very unique handbuilt home high in the Idaho mountains. Most of the materials came from the mountain on which the home is located. The lumber was provided by the trees on the property. the stone was all gathered locally on the mountain to create a quaint little home. Almost everything was made on site. Doors, windows, shutters, cabinetry, all millwork and hardware using solar power. The land is gently sloping to steep with many fruit trees wild and domestic berries there are also many wild herbs. About five acres are fenced pasture for horses or cows. The well produces 7 gpm and has a 3000 gallon concrete cistern which gravity feeds the house with cool clear water. On the lower end of the property there are 3 springs which have a comebined flow of around 14gpm. A micro hydro could be installed to make the home almost completely independant. The garden spot is about 40x60 and a two room underground root cellar for storage. There is also a garden shed with a small brick pizza oven and a storage loft. The garage has a little guest quarters with a small balcony overlooking the mountains to the east. The access is four wheel drive only in winter and one must be willing to plow 1 mile of mtn. road in the winter. The views from the house are truly incredible. There is also an abundance of wildlife and many outdoor recreational opportunities right out the door winter and summer.
