We have a grey water system; additionally, our orchard uses a permaculture-based system of collected rainwater underground to deep water the roots of the fruit trees and the garden beds. Our newly installed solar system covers the electricity for the house. Our large trees keep the yard and house shady and cool in summer, but sunny and warm in winter. Our yard grows much of our food, so the quality of our food is very high, but the bill low.
