Our home is built with ecological, environmental principles. All the finishes in the house are non-toxic, natural or food grade. Nothing outgases toxins in our home. Even the laundry room is outside the living quarters for air purity indoors. We have only ever cleaned with food grade cleaners. Our positive pressure air filtration and circulation system triple purifies the air with a HEPA filter that stops dust, pollen or allergens from entering from crevices through the walls, doors, and windows (it’s the same technique as clean rooms). Our sophisticated whole-house water filtration systems ensure healthy water in every faucet and shower in the home.
Our utility bills are low. We have a grey water system; additionally, our orchard uses a permaculture-based system of collected rainwater underground to deep water the roots of the fruit trees and the garden beds. This system ensures well-hydrated deep soil year round with the rains which keeps soil bio-active, and also encourages roots growing deeply where they find constantly stable food and moisture supply year round. Our garden is beautiful. We have hosted many community events in our yard, including many children’s programs, celebrations, and our daughter‘s wedding. We have been offered up to $8000 to rent our yard for events. Our gorgeous barn has been a movement studio for 20 years. My husband built an extremely stable and beautiful hand-made and hand-finished wood floor for movement classes with healthy air circulation to regulate the air quality and cooling in the summer.
We have a heated indoor Endless Swimming Pool®. It is perfect for therapy, fitness or sports training. Non-chlorine, set up to be an oxygen therapy pool (a type of oxygen therapy, similar to a hyperbaric chamber).
