The only sounds to break the silence, except for the passing of cars to and from the trailhead, are the howling of coyotes. As I like to say, there are probably more coyotes here than people.

Tucson is nestled in a valley at 2500 feet surrounded by several mountain ranges and Saguaro National Park.
