There is a seasonal pond and artistic rock paths and rock energy, raspberries, currents, wild black berries and huckleberries, figs and plums, pastures for your horses, llamas, or goats. Raised veggie beds next to a large greenhouse and shop. The land and homes have been farmed and stewarded organically for 15 years. No chemicals inside or out from fertilizer to finishes!
Our home is constructed of second growth Whidbey Island Douglas Fir peeled right on the property. Every morning you wake up to the color of honey as the sun comes through the sky lights.
It is situated at the end of a long drive way nestled among second growth Douglas Fir,enormous Cedar's and Hemlock. It is pastured and fenced for horses, llamas, goats, etc. There are extensive herb gardens and a variety of mature deciduous trees. There is also a "secret garden" rimmed with several varieties of bamboo.
The kitchen is a real country kitchen, huge with a great gathering space. Stainless cabinets and appliances with an organic butcher block counter from Eco Haus. Gourmet stove has propane burners and electric ovens and a walk-in pantry as big as a bedroom!
The master bath has a huge soaking tub and a slipper claw foot bath on a stone floor in the main house. There is a huge Master walk in closet, a bedroom size laundry room and an enormous pantry with commercial stainless shelving. There are two sun rooms that are perfect for a home office or retreat space. They both look out on garden pond, gazebo, and a variety of grasses and willows. There is also a sun porch with skylights that is perfect for an extra sleeping room or den. Both houses and shop wired for internet with DSL provided by local telephone company for those who may be remote computer workers. Satellite currently provided by DISH TV. Refrigerators, Stoves, and Washer and Dryers stay with both houses.
The custom built 3800 square foot log home and the 1472 square foot guest cabin are built with environmentally friendly materials including denim insulation, marmoleum, stone, wood, and tile floors, non toxic adhesives and finishes. There is an 1200 foot metal workshop wired with 220 power for all of your projects, a large green house, barn, chicken coop and gazebo. Property has fenced pasture and second growth forest…Some trees over 100 years old.
The main house is heated with an enormous wood or pellet stove as well as ceramic in wall heaters. The on-demand hot water heater is propane. Enormous laundry/storage room comes with Kenmore appliances. Heated 600 sq foot enclosed porch serves as extra sleeping space, dining room, or den.
The guest cabin also has a wood stove and in wall ceramic heaters. Floors are Eucalyptus, Pine, Doug Fir, and Marmoleum. Claw foot bath, solid pine cabinets, and a divided loft. Sleeps 6 comfortably.
