We are at the end of a mostly level dirt road which is well plowed in winter by the town.
There are 4 other houses on our road (great neighbors). We have total peace and quiet, as well as privacy, with only one house near us and 32 acres surrounding the house. Yet we are a couple minutes from the village of Marshfield and only 16 miles from the capital city of Montpelier. Other neighbors include lots of deer, wild turkey, coyotes and an occasional black bear (no problem if you keep your food in)Market Area
We have a very active Food Co-Op in Plainfield, only 10 min. away. Plainfield also has a nice dinner restaurant/bar and a great breakfast spot. Our village has a pretty famous restaurant and bakery (Rainbow Sweets), a town library, and 2 general stores. There are many artists, writers, musicians and poets living in the quiet hills of Marshfield.School District
Twinfield School, pre-K - 12, is a few miles down the road and has dedicated teachers, active community involvement and a good reputation. There is also a large Christian Church community close by with its own school.Community
Lovely, active Vermont community with lots of creative and caring folks. There is an ethic here of giving your neighbors privacy and space, yet being there to help one another.
This is so valuable. Our closest neighbors are the Best! This morning when I woke, there were fresh, out of the oven, just-picked, blueberry, cornmeal muffins on the back porch. My neighbor's way of letting me know that her 20+ blueberry bushes are now ripe for the picking. Her son plows our driveway and sells us wood.Location of Home or Land
