An earth friendly home as art:
This hand-sculpted round solar home is a work of art, crafted from local natural materials harvested from the Vermont landscape.

Both buildings rise to meet a ring of hand-hewn spruce rafters, circular white pine ceilings, and round oak-rimmed skylights that let in sun, moon and starlight year-round.

The property is ideal for a family looking to live sustainably, perhaps homesteading and living off the land with organic gardens and plenty of space and resources to raise animals. If you are looking for a different way of life, this may be the perfect opportunity for you!Neighborhood Description
The solar home is located in rural Granville, VT and is fairly isolated from the neighbors. There is not so much a neighborhood as a wider community. Several of the homes in the immediate area are summer homes and are not occupied year-round. Several neighbors have long-held family connections to the area and so there is a deep sense of neighborhood in that regard.
It is likely on most days you would not see your neighbors unless you made an effort to do so. Many nearby families live sustainably and off grid and can provide support and very active home schooling network.Market Area
Vermont’s Route 100, which provides access to the round solar home in Granville, has been called the most scenic road in Vermont, and is popular with touring motorists and bicyclists almost year round.
This scenic highway is cupped between the main range of the Green Mountains and the Braintree Range, and links the sleepy little Vermont villages of Rochester, Hancock and Granville, and the ski towns of Warren and Waitsfield.
Downtown Granville itself—barely more than a scattering of a few homes—melts away quickly into picturesque valley farms, and is a typical Vermont hamlet. However, the town also includes vast stretches of Green Mountain National Forest, one of the premier hiking, camping and outdoor destinations in New England (visit the National Forest Office just north of Rochester, Vermont for trail maps, cycling routes and info).
You’ll find a lively music and arts scene as well as shopping close to the Granville yurts in Rochester, Waitsfield and Warren (year round theatre, concerts, festivals, restaurants, and more). The Rochester Green—host to summer and fall music festivals—is just 10 minutes from the Green home in Granville. The State Capitol of Montpelier is only one hour from Granville as is Rutland; Burlington is one hour and fifteen minutes away; and Middlebury 45 minutes. There’s a local airport in Warren.Location of Home or Land
