We are in the fields with the cows and horses and grain farms of the other farmers. Because our house is totally off-grid, there are no services to this area. This keeps the population limited to our family, unless someone comes along and builds 100% off-grid home... Our closest neighbors are 2 miles away. The closest town, with a population of less than 1,000, is a little over 2 miles away. The neigbors are friendly, helpful, and have survival/preparation meetings about once every month or 2.Market Area
Rural Utah. Ephraim and Mount Pleasant are the closest towns. There is a Walmart in Ephraim (12 miles away), so you're never stranded without the items that they sell. They have a full grocery store. There is also another grocery store in both Eph. and Mt. Pleasant. Snow College is a junior/turning 4 year program. It is beautiful, and in Eph. Moroni has a turkey plant. It's very cheap and delicious. Spanish Fork is about 1-1/2 hours away. Costco, etc. is there.School District
My children are home schooled. We have a one year membership at Snow College Gym, where there is a full sized indoor pool and diving boards, as well as aerobic/weight gym, and also basketball and raquetball, etc. There is also the Wasatch Academy Private School in Mount Pleasant, with international boarding students, as well as local non-boarding students, which is highly acclaimed around here. In addition, I've heard the public school in Spring City (local) is very nice.Community
There are many very nice Mormons, as well as non-Mormons. We've also had some Jehovah's Witnesses visit us. Our boys are involved in the boy scout program, here, and it is a very nice program. I have also heard that the 4-H program here is very involved. The fireworks we saw here this past July 4th were the most amazing we have seen (in Moroni, just 10 minutes from our home). And recently, we have heard there is a very strong local militia group, headed by a local sheriff.Location of Home or Land
