Property Description

My business, Timberstone LLC, reclaims and mills lumber and mill work from existing structures, predominately barns. 90% of the structural and finish wood in this home is reclaimed. The exterior finish is mostly mortar and fieldstone collected from the 78 acre property. The floors in this home are mainly 7/8" thick reclaimed wood or exposed aggregate concrete. The home has radiant heat in the floors that is integrated into the active solar collector and storage system. The home is a passive solar design with masonry storage in the 4 season sun room floor that ties into the solar storage system with the radiant tubing. Because of my endless supply of firewood I mainly heat with a small Vermont Castings wood stove with a catalytic combustor that is located in the great room. The 24X30 great room with loft and cathedral ceiling supported by timber frame trusses covered with R-48 12" foam core panels to create as closely as possible a perfect insulation skin for Wisconsin winters. The remainder of the home is insulated with R-50 cellulose (recycled newspaper) insulation. There is a 5X12 vegetable storage room in the basement with a fresh air system. The whole house is supplied with fresh air through a ground loop tempered passive fresh air system. This home has a walk in attic approx 20X12 that is a great storage space. also a walk up attic above the garage approx 22X16. The basement and garage walls are insulated with R-10 styrofoam.
